This project brings together performance artist Ulay with new media artist Keti Haliori in a synergy on water. Coinciding with an evolving event of the “World Water Museum” installation, the synergy features Ulay, the pioneer perhaps artist on the water challenges and Keti, performing at Castalia Spring of Delphi.
The Earth Water Catalogue, by Ulay (Uwe Laysiepen) is a compilation of physical water with a growing archive, database and platform on water-related works, by artists around the earth.
The “World Water Museum” installation by Keti Haliori collects samples of water from citizens participating in the super realistic designation of water as museum item.
Τhe joint project sends a signal that water is a natural heritage and that through this perception it should have substance and significance. It merges the two works aiming to verbalize connections and insights that lay within the visible. But it can also initiate an appeal and a conception that might engender pure and visionary perspectives to the viewers. Ulay, having a paradox dialogue with water in his poem of 2006 “Waters below and above” wonders on its lifecycle and individual biography. Keti’s concern of the unknown future of water resources sets out a journey both practical and aesthetic, to a space of safety and respect. The visitors of Technohoros will see the individual parts of the synergies project in the correlations they are given.
The two artists will collaborate with no prior rehearsals and predefined agenda. The aim of the joint project is to set a stage for thinking and communicating about the idea of water without glamour and cultural cachet.
